My Marie's Floral Boutique was opened in 1990 by Brian Ouvrey and Mike Paquette. In 1999, they hired Barbara Fryia, a friend, former co-worker, and fellow designer. Brian Ouvrey passed away in 2000, and Barb managed the shop for Mike. In 2001, Barb purchased the shop and kept the name in honour of Mike and Brian's grandmother Marie.

Barb Fryia has been in the Floral industry since 1979, and has worked both in Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie during that time. She has been creating Artificial and Fresh flower arrangements that continue to generate praise from her clientelle. In 2007, she has added an award winning designer to her staff, Murray Carson, Barb's older brother. My Marie's is run by Barb and husband Jamie Fryia, who's Vision and Mission reflect the value of customer satisfaction.
